Standard Definitions and Terminology

TERM DEFINITION
Business Insights The Module within the Platform through which Users would analyze relevant Company data and statistics.
Buyer A Company identified within the context of the interaction as the buying party.
Company A legal entity, identified as such through a unique company registration number, or ID number in the case of sole proprietors, registered onto the Platform. The Platform will limit registration to one unique Company record only.
Company Approver The designated Company User authorised for the approval of a particular process or workflow within the Platform.
Company Product Family Corporate Subscription clients may include their own internal supply categorization, in addition to the Platform's adoption of the UNSPSC global classification.
The Company Product Family defines the clients secondary level supply categorization, or sub-category.
Company Product Segment Corporate Subscription clients may include their own internal supply categorization, in addition to the Platform's adoption of the UNSPSC global classification.
The Company Product Segment defines the clients first level supply category.
Company Profile A summary of a particular Company's information created during the Registration process, available for view within the Directory.
Company Registration Number The official business registration number of the Company, as it appears on the formal Certificate of Incorporation and Company Register within the applicable country of registration.
Company Sector The trading Sector, as defined within the Company's Certificate of Incorporation, in which a company operates.
Company Type The legal form of the company, as recorded on the Company Certificate of Incorporation.
Company User Any user authorised by the Company to access and interact on the Platform on behalf of the Company.
Compliance Management Refers to the Module through which a User would initiate, review and manage automated regulatory compliance checks on relevant Companies, and other generic due diligence or governance processes.
Contracting Refers to the Contract Management Module within the Platform, facilitating efficient and seamless Contract management.
Directory The consolidation of all Companies registered onto, and subscribed to, the Platform, and displayed publicly within the Find Companies function.
eRFx Refers to the Platform’s module for electronic Request For Quote, Proposal or Tender.
Find Companies Refers to the Module and action through which a User would search for, and initiate further engagement with, a Company/s within the Directory.
Global Product Family The Platform applies the UNSPSC global supply classification, with the Product Family defining a secondary level of product or service categorization, or sub-category.
Global Product Segment The Platform applies the UNSPSC global supply classification, with the Product Segment defining a first level categorization of product and services.
Manual Supplier A company specific supplier record created directly onto the Platform by the client, and not through the registration process. This record is visible to the client only, and not displayed on the public Directory.
Market Refers to the community of Companies within the Platform Directory, who together constitute a common marketplace.
Motivation to Onboard Refers to the Module through which a client would initiate the process to onboard a supplier, either from within the Directory, or to invite into the Platform. This would include functionality for manual or emergency onboarding.
My Clients Refers to a specific Company's customers which will be linked as such, facilitating enhanced searching. This may include Company specific customers which may not be listed on the Directory.
My Connections Refers to any connection between Companies on the Directory, including My Suppliers, My Clients and other.
My Office Refers to the Module through which a User would facilitate office administrational functions, as they exist within the Platform.
My Suppliers Refers to a specific Company's suppliers which will be indicated as such to facilitate enhanced searching. This may include Company specific Suppliers which may not be listed on the Directory.
Onboarding The process of a Buyer initiating Onboarding of a Company to their own financial system, via the Platform functionality available to the onboarding Company.
Platform The over-arching online system, including the Directory and all Module functionality.
Platform Module The Platform is modular in design, offering Users various functional modules across a variety of menu options.
Primary Contact The authorised representative of the Company registering the Company onto the Platform, and thereafter responsible for all interactions between the Platform and the Company.
Registered Company Name The official registered name of the Company, as it appears on the formal Certification of Incorporation and Company Register within the applicable country of registration.
Registration The process through which a Primary User will register their Company onto the Platform for the purposes of interacting with other Companies.
Secondary Contact An alternative Company contact person, authorized by the Company and Primary Contact to initiate and engage in interactions between the Platform and the Company.
Subscription Package The Platform offers Companies Subscription Packages priced according to the relevant functionality of the Platform required by the Company.
There are Modules within the Platform which a Company may add to their Subscription, not provided as standard within their base Subscription Package.
Supplier A Company identified within the context of the interaction as the supplying party.
Third-Party Refers to Subscription-based functionality and/or services provided by an external service provider, integrated into the functionality of the Platform.
Trading As Name The common name used by a Company in carrying out its business activities, which may be different to the Registered Company Name.
Users Used interchangeably for any User of the Platform, whether Primary, Company, Buyer or Supplier, and so on.
VAT Number Refers to a unique reference number for the purposes of Value Added Tax, or the equivalent thereof, as applicable to regulations within the relevant Country/s.
Virtual Marketplace Refers to the Module through which a User would interact and network with other Companies on the Directory for the purposes of developing business relations.
